Special Session 10: Key Technologies of Artificial Intelligence-Based Virtual Power Plants

A Virtual Power Plant (VPP) is an electricity operation and management model that relies on the power system architecture and utilizes technologies such as modern information communication and integrated system control to aggregate distributed resources, including distributed power sources, adjustable loads, and energy storage. It participates in power system optimization and electricity market transactions. Artificial intelligence technology is a key enabler for VPPs to aggregate large-scale distributed resources and support decision-making in electricity markets. This special session, based on the China-South Korea International Cooperation National Key Project "Artificial Intelligence-Based Key Technologies and Application Demonstrations of Virtual Power Plants," will focus on in-depth academic discussions regarding hierarchical and zonal dynamic construction and capacity quantification technologies of VPPs, multi-agent system-based decision-making technologies for VPP transactions, and deep reinforcement learning-based operational control technologies for VPPs.
